Barker West Pty Ltd (Barker West, we, us) is a residential property management agency on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through barkerwest.com.au and when you contact us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

When you use a form on this website, we collect the details you enter. Depending on the form, that can include your name, email address, phone number, property address and details (such as property type, bedrooms and whether it is tenanted), your current managing agency, how you heard about us and any message you send.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. If you call or email us, we keep a record of the conversation and your contact details.

Like most websites, this site also collects basic technical information when you visit, such as pages viewed, browser type and approximate location, through visitor statistics and security tools. This information is used in summary form and is not used to identify you.

Why we collect it

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, prepare a rental appraisal you have asked for, discuss our property management services with you, send newsletters you have subscribed to, keep our website secure and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for anything unrelated to these purposes without your consent.

Who we share it with

Our website is hosted by WordPress.com (Automattic Inc.). Form submissions are emailed to our team and stored in our website and email systems. Form entries are checked for spam by Akismet, a service run by Automattic. Newsletter subscriptions are managed through WordPress.com. These providers may store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.

We may also share information with professional advisers or where the law requires or allows it. If you become a client, we will explain how we handle owner and tenancy records as part of your management authority.

This website and its providers use cookies for essential functions, security and visitor statistics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we delete or de-identify information we no longer need.
